Celebrating Patient Experience Week

Happy Patient Experience Week! This global annual event celebrates the healthcare staff who positively impact the experience of their patients every day. The Patient Experience movement began in the United States over 20 years ago. Its core principle is that every single interaction a patient has with a healthcare organization, no matter how small, has a tremendous impact on that patient’s overall experience of their care.

At Southwest Center, the care team consists of nurse practitioners, client care coordinators, therapists, outreach specialists, and many more staff members, all playing an integral role in providing excellent care and experience to each one of our patients. Patient experience is a key part of our mission:

“We provide affirming and inclusive services to promote well-being and advance health equity for diverse communities and all those seeking compassionate care – especially people of color, LGBTQIA2S+ and Queer individuals, and those affected by HIV.”

Every person who comes through our door deserves to be treated with kindness, dignity, and respect, and to receive high-quality healthcare. Our Patient Experience Department works directly with patients to gather feedback and understanding about their entire care journey. This information is then used to identify opportunities for growth and change, as well as to celebrate excellence by recognizing outstanding staff members.

At the end of the day, we are human beings caring for human beings, and it’s that shared humanity that makes Southwest Center a welcoming and safe healthcare environment for our community.

We invite you to share your support for the health care team or individual who provides a positive experience during your medical care.

The Southwest Center Care Team thanks you for trusting us with your healthcare needs and making us your medical home!
