HIV is Not a Crime Awareness Day
February 28 is recognized as HIV is Not a Crime Awareness Day, initiated in 2022 by the Sero Project and the Elizabeth Taylor AIDS Foundation. It highlights the unfair criminalization of individuals due to their HIV status, reminding of the enduring stigma and discrimination faced by individuals living with HIV. Stigma surrounding HIV creates fear, discrimination, and barriers to healthcare access. It’s important to acknowledge HIV as a health condition deserving understanding, support, and comprehensive care. At the Southwest Center, we prioritize comprehensive care, offering both PrEP and PEP for HIV prevention.

From the Desk of Our Patient Experience Coach
My name is Cassie Sampson, and I am the Patient Experience Coach here at Southwest Center. I'm excited to share some insights about our Patient Experience Program. According to The Beryl Institute, Patient Experience (PX) is defined as "The sum of all interactions, shaped by an organization's culture, that influence patient perceptions across the continuum of care."
